The vendor acquired this 1967 Volkswagen Beetle 1300 in 2014 and after some work used it for wedding duities alongside a Volkswagen Bus. This stopped in 2018 and since then, it has mainly been used for local driving and the occasional trip to Goodwood from London. The Beetle is shown on its V5C as being registered in January 1967 and is showing 32,800 miles (possibly 132,800) on its odometer. It has an MoT through to September 2025 even though, as an historic vehicle, it no longer requires annual testing. The vendor tells us that it runs and drives, although is not happy sitting in traffic for a long time, but doesn't have any issues if moving along freely. It was upgraded to 12-volt electrics in 2015 when its flywheel and clutch were also changed. It was repainted in 2017. The engine is from a Mexican Beetle which was with the car when it was purchased. A canvas sunroof was added shortly after the car was purchased. Recent work has included a service in December to resolve rough running and some body work in 2023 including repairs to both heater channels. Paperwork includes the V5C, receipts for most work done while in the vendor's ownership (although servicing has been carried out by a mechanic friend in their spare time). There's also an instruction and maintenance manual.
